• Job Description

A. Knowledge and understanding:

²- Have a secure knowledge and understanding of relevant subjects, IGCSE, A-Level,AP.

²- Cope securely with subject-related questions that students raise and know about students’ common misconceptions and mistakes in their specialist subject(s).

²- All secondary school curriculum and assessment guidelines

²- Manage to teach in an effective way, each teacher is required to teach at most 26 lessons in a week .


B. Planning and setting expectations:

²- Identify clear teaching objectives, content, lesson structures and sequences appropriate to the subject matter and the students being taught.

²- Set appropriate and demanding expectations for students’ learning and motivation. Set clear targets for

students' learning, building on prior attainment and experiences.

²- Identify students who have special educational needs and are gifted and talented, and know where to get assistance in order to give positive and targeted support. Where applicable, implement and keep records on Individual Education Plans.


C. Teaching and managing student learning:

²- Ensure effective teaching of whole classes, groups and individuals so that teaching objectives are met, momentum and challenge are maintained, and best use is made of teaching time.

²- Use teaching methods that keep students engaged, including stimulating students’ intellectual curiosity, effective questioning and response, clear presentation and good use of resources.

²- Set high expectations for students' behavior, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline through well-focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships.

²- Promote positive behavior patterns, encourage self-esteem, and improve independent working in students to assist their education and growth within an ICT environment;


D. Assessment and evaluation:

²- Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use this assessment for future teaching.

²- Mark and monitor students’ class and homework providing constructive oral and written feedback

²- When applicable, understand the demands expected of students in relation to the National Curriculum, .

²- Know how to prepare and present informative reports to parents.

²- Recognize that learning takes place outside the school context and provide opportunities to develop students' understanding by relating their learning to real and work-related examples.

²- Understand the need to cooperate with agencies outside school.


F. Managing own performance and development:

²- Understand the need to take responsibility for their own professional development and to keep up to date with research and developments in pedagogy and in the subjects they teach.

²- Understand their professional responsibilities in relation to school policies, guidelines and practices.

²- Set a good example to the students they teach in their presentation and their personal conduct.

²- evaluate their own teaching critically and use this to improve their effectiveness


G. Managing and developing staff and other adults:

²- Establish effective working relationships with professional colleagues, such as, co-teachers, specialist teachers and associate staff.


H. Managing resources:

²- Select and make good use of books, equipment, ICT and other learning resources that enable teaching objectives to be met. Most staff are required to serve as Form Tutors during their time at school


I. Others: Support the school activities including Open Day, Parent Info Session, boarding, night study etc. as requested by the School Principals.


JOB QUALIFICATION

²- Degree: BA or above

²- Required :Relevant Major in Education

²- Age :25 or above

²- Language :Be proficient in English

²- Work Experience No less than 2-year international education experience


Professional Knowledge

²- be proficient in subject knowledge

²- be proficient in foreign language knowledge and intercultural language accomplishment ;

²- be master in general education and be familiar with psychology


Required abilities

²- Great capacity in developing and designing courses, and integrating teaching resources

²- be able to optimize teaching methods, and shape a positive learning atmosphere ;

²- Time management capacity, application ability, self-motivation ability and can work with others;

²- Can use office software well


Qualification and Certificate

Teaching Certificate in relevant subject


Soft skills

²- Patient, friendly, responsible, and know how to cooperate and communicate with others well

²- Obey the Law, be passionate in education and be competent in teaching, and caring for students
